Dear Sponsors, Golfers, Volunteers and Adoption Resource Foundation Supporters,
I hope that your 2024 is off to a great start! I know I am looking forward to kicking this cold weather to the curb and pulling out the clubs again soon.
We are already putting our plans together for our Annual Golf Tournament that will take place on Monday, June 10th, at Lakewood Oaks Country Club. Last year was one of the best years we have ever had. We were able to raise over $50,000 and award seven awesome families with $5,000 grants to help them with their adoptions.
You were able to meet most of these families last year. We are excited to introduce our alumni families and this year’s families to you on June 10th. How exciting it is that you played a huge part in helping these children find their forever homes!
This year our board will be meeting at the end of March with all the families who have applied for the 2024 grants. We will be deciding which ones we will award additional grants to for their adoptions. You will also meet these amazing families at the event this year. You are making a huge difference in the lives of so many children. We can’t thank you enough for your years of support for this incredible foundation.
Our theme this year is Give the Gift, and we are hoping to Give the Gift of the family to more children who are out there waiting for their forever families. We look forward to seeing you at the event again on June 10th.
Again, thank you for your continued support!
ARF Committee: Brian Conaty (chair), Rose Mary Coffman, Cortney Cooper, Aaron Israelite, Jake Wimmer, Billie McClain and Kristi Herschberger

Our theme this year is GIVE THE GIFT!! Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the 17th Annual Woods Chapel UMC Adoption Resource Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday, June 13, 2022. All proceeds will benefit the Woods Chapel UMC Adoption Resource Foundation (ARF). Your generous support as a sponsor will help us offer financial assistance to families in the KC Metro Area and beyond, who are providing a loving home for foster children and orphans. Last year we raised close to $40,000 and gave out four $10,000 grants to assist families in the adoption process. For our 17th year, the GOAL is $50,000 so we can help more families. The Woods Chapel Adoption Resource Foundation board is so thankful for our many great sponsors who support this great cause. We appreciate your time and financial commitment to help make this a reality for those families and children looking for their forever homes. There is no better gift than to give a child a family. We look forward to seeing you late this Spring and hope to make this the best year ever. See you in June and thank you in advance for your support.

Dear Sponsors, Golfers, Volunteers, and Adoption Resource Foundation Supporters, First off, Thank you for supporting the Adoption Resource Foundation! This 16th year our Golf Tournament will be Monday, June 14, 2021, at Lakewood Oaks Golf Club in Lee’s Summit. Registration/Breakfast begins at 7:30 and Shot-gun Start at 9:00 AM! It is will be an Amazing Day playing golf and celebrating the past, present, and future adoptions ARF will help!
It all started back in 2000 when a team of people from Woods Chapel Church went to Russia in search of an orphanage our church could sponsor in hopes of helping just a few of Russia’s 6 million orphans. We found an orphanage in Korlova where we were able to help 13 of the children find their forever homes here in America. Several of these children were adopted by church families here in Lee’s Summit and we have been able to see these children grow into awesome adults, graduating college and creating a great life for themselves!
In 2004 an idea surfaced to start an adoption foundation in Lee’s Summit. We wanted to help families finance adoptions for children here in our area, as well as all over the world. On the very day we developed the “Woods Chapel UMC Adoption Foundation” the board was filled with experts in every position. And so our dream of helping these children find their forever homes began and since this time we have helped over 250 families with their adoptions.
For the past 16 years, the foundation has hosted a golf tournament to help raise funds to give grants to these families for their adoption expenses. We have also been able to give book awards to adopted children going to college. We have seen a lot of these kids at our tourney every year and they continue to help us give back to other kids who are in search of a loving forever family. It is such a blessing to hear the stories and help all of these children and families find each other.
This 16th year our GOAL is $65,000. Last year’s theme was such a success that we decided to continue it to 2021. Our THEME is "FUNDING THE NEED" which means FUNDING ONE FULL ADOPTION ($30,000) IN 2021! This theme continues to carry out a long-term vision of the Adoption Resource Foundation Board.
